After a year of collaborative development with the management team at Total Anesthesia, Wheat Systems deployed the client's first interactive web portal.
Total Anesthesia has unique needs because they manage a large team of doctors, CRNAs, and administrators who work in many different Richmond area hospitals - and they frequently work in different locations on different days. Communication was spread across many mediums and required different management and different kinds of archiving. A lot of important company time was spent simply keeping track of people, sending schedules everywhere, and driving all over town to move paperwork around. They have to comply with HIPAA practices as well as Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
We imagined with them: if there were a way to make all communication web-based and centralized to one portal website, what would you need to make it do? How would it need to work for you? From there, we discussed customizable forums with permission-based visibility, file storage repositories, all-access announcements, calendars for sharing schedules and reporting billable hours, and digital versions of common paperwork. Then we set out to create a complete portal solution with custom applications, and enhanced it with a content management solution (CMS) that allowed instant updates and changes to content, pictures, and layout.
Although most of the features are only available to employees, you can see their latest version here: www.totalanesthesia.com
