On Wednesday, March 11th, around 11:30am, two of our technicians helped save a man's life on Chippenham on the Willey Bridge.  Senior Systems Engineer Joel Woodward and Systems Engineer Chad Christianson were on their way to a client when they passed a smoking van on the side of the road.  Once Chad realized that there was a man in the van who was wildly flailing his arms, he told Joel that something was wrong and that they needed to turn around and see what was happening to the man in the van.  They got off at the next ... Decision Analyst, Inc., a leading international marketing firm, conducted an online survey of 451 small-business decision makers and Emerson commissioned it.  The survey attempted to determine when a power outage strikes are small businesses prepared to deal with the disruption.
 
The survey revealed:
 
· Only 39% of them have back-up power capacity to keep lights on, computers running and employees working.
· 42% of these companies that experienced outages had to close the doors during outages.
· 79% experienced at least one power outage in 2007.

Rotary International is an international service club dedicated to the provision of humanitarian service, encouragement of high ethical standards, and the building of goodwill and peace in the world. A group of Rotarians from Tortola in the British Virgin Islands participated in a Group Study Exchange to Richmond in September. This exchange was sponsored by Rotary Clubs in Virginia.
